About us

Bluestone Archaeology is a not for profit community interest company run by three directors: Andrew Burn, Steve Baldwin and Dr Rob Philpott.

Bluestone Archaeology CIC will embrace the requirements of the ‘Social Value Act 2012’. We intend to demonstrate further benefits to our commercial clients
particularly in education initiatives by way of our archaeological field school. So a client paying for a watching brief, for example, is going someway to provide
educational opportunities for children, young adults and adult students, and where possible, in the community affected by the development.

By using our services, property developers can boost their corporate responsibility statements by placing public and private funds back into the local communities. This will enable smaller companies such as ours to tender for contracts on a level playing field against the bigger companies who might be more profit driven to meet the needs of their directors and shareholders.
